Family Participation Day
Once per month, our families join the preschoolers at the end of the day for a variety of projects. These opportunities permit preschoolers to showcase their preschool skills and enjoy the creation of fond family memories. Watch this spot for all upcoming dates for the 2018-19 School Year.

Our preschool program is a blended preschool classroom for children 3, 4 and 5 years old. We offer a morning session (8:30-11:00am) and an afternoon session (12:30-3:00pm), following the Komarek school calendar. Our Preschool for All grant is administered in conjunction with LADSE (LaGrange Area Department of Special Education). We utilize the research based Creative Curriculum within the classroom. The classes are designed to permit children of all abilities a developmentally appropriate learning experience.
SPREAD THE WORD TO ALL FAMILIES OF PRESCHOOLERS IN THE DISTRICT!
Komarek provides preschool screening in both the fall and spring. Our preschool operates under the Preschool For All Grant. By screening, we are able to provide needed support for all children to meet their developmental milestones. All children turning age 3 by September 1, 2017 are encouraged to attend a screening to assure planning of resources for preschool. Your child must be at least 3 years old to participate in the screening. If your child turns 3 years of age after Sept 1, 2017 and prior to Sept 1, 2018, then they will be eligible for preschool in the 2018-19 school year. Please contact the school to register for the spring screening.
If you have questions, please contact Maria Mullen for the next available appointment. (708)447-8030 Ext 124. Proof of residency is required.
Life Skills Classes Learn with Preschool
Our 6th and 7th Grade Komarek Life Skills classes join our preschoolers once per week to work as a lab school and experience child development in action. They support our preschoolers by providing language support and sharing creative ideas in our classroom. Their visit usually occurs during our center time, but we also do special projects with their support. They have provided us small group stories, puppet shows, Stone Soup celebrations, Green Eggs & Ham and much more! By having the older students nurture our youngest members, we build strong community at Komarek.
Please remember to call the school if your child will not be in school for any reason. If your child has a fever, he/she must be free of the fever for 24 hours before returning to school. This makes sure your child is healed and no other children will catch the fever. Thank you for keeping all of us healthy! For any questions or concerns, you can always call school (708)447-8030 Ext 108, or reach me via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
