Effective January 1, 2017 Public Act 99-0922 enacted by Governor Bruce Rauner and the General Assembly went into effect to protect Illinois children from possible exposure to lead in drinking water. This Act requires all public school districts to test the lead content of the water in all schools serving preschool through fifth grade students that were built before January 1, 1987. The Illinois Department of Public Health require that all sample results are less than 5 ppb. All Komarek water sources including tap, faucet, and drinking fountains in the District were tested on 10/05/2017. All the test results show that the levels are below this threshold and comply with all regulations outlined in the statue. To view the lead tests for Komarek click on the water fountain.
